Stand-Allocation System (SAS): A Constraint-Based System Developed with Software Components
نویسندگان
چکیده
tion developed for the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at Chek Lap Kok. SAS uses constraint-programming techniques to assign parking stands to aircraft and schedules tow movements based on a set of business and operational constraints. The system provides planning, real-time operation, and problem-solving capabilities. SAS generates a stand-allocation plan that finely balances the objectives of the airline-handling agents, the convenience of passengers, and the operational constraints of the airport. The system ensures a high standard of quality in customer service, airport safety, and use of stand resources. This article describes our experience in developing an AI system using standard off-the-shelf software components. SAS is an example of how development methodologies used to construct modern AI applications have become fully inline with mainstream practices.

متن کاملOptimal Torque Control of PMSG-based Stand-Alone Wind Turbine with Energy Storage System
In this paper optimal torque control (OTC) of stand-alone variable-speed small-scale wind turbine equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous generator and a switch- mode rectifier is presented. It is shown that with OTC method in standalone configuration, power coefficient could be reached to its maximum possible value, i.e. 0.48. An appropriate control algorithm based on turbine characterist...
متن کاملRedundancy allocation problem for k-out-of-n systems with a choice of redundancy strategies
To increase the reliability of a specific system, using redundant components is a common method which is called redundancy allocation problem (RAP). Some of the RAP studies have focused on k-out-of-n systems. However, all of these studies assumed predetermined active or standby strategies for each subsystem. In this paper, for the first time, we propose a k-out-of-<em...
متن کاملOptimal Sizing of a Reliable Hydrogen-based Stand-alone Wind-Fuel Cell System
A hybrid wind/ fuel cell generation system is designed to supply power demand. The aim of this design is to minimize the total cost of the hybrid system over an expected 20 years of operation. The optimization problem is solved aimed at providing a reliable supply for the consumer’s demand. The system consists of fuel cells, some wind units, some electrolyzers, a reformer, an anaerobic reactor ...
متن کاملSpace Vector Control Scheme of Three Level ZSI Applied to Wind Energy Systems
In this paper the Space Vector Control Scheme is implemented for a Wind Energy System using Three Level Impedance Source Inverter (ZSI). The wind energy system uses a Self Excited Induction generator (SEIG) which is the most emerging application in the field of Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The proposed system is modelled with a generator-side Diode Bridge Rectifier and a Stand-Alone si...
